Foodie Tip Alert: The Quench for Crispy Tacos

When you love tacos and crave them constantly, you typically begin seeking out the best taquerias, taco stands, taco trucks, and restaurants in your area and possibly out further. I can’t tell you how many times a neighbor has asked “where they can find the best tacos” on Nextdoor.com or “name the best crunchy taco spot” on the Capital Eats group on Facebook. Some of you may see these questions or post and move on. But serious taco eaters like myself take notice.

So, when a buddy told me about the crunchy tacos at Urbano’s Mexican Dining, my ears perked up. He specifically said that “they fry their taco shells” and make a “tasty salsa.” Serious taco eaters know that nothing beats home-fried crispy taco shells – and pairing a good taco with authentic salsa is like pairing peanut butter and jam.

After a long work week on Friday, I decided to head over to Urbano’s, which is located in the Twelve Bridges neighborhood. Urbanos features both indoor and outdoor seating – and parking is plentiful. Upon arrival, a friendly host greeted and seated me quickly.

Urbano’s boast a traditional Mexican menu, but I’m here for one reason: the crunchy tacos! Crunchy taco options come in beef, chicken, or pork. The ‘Urbano’s Traditional Tacos’ plate comes with rice and beans – and the tacos lived up to the hype.

Tacos are dressed in sour crème, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. And are very tasty and filling. The crunchiness and the combination of ingredients provide that savory taco experience that satisfies and affirms why I went there in the first place.

There are many great things to eat at Urbano’s – but the crispy tacos are certifiably delicious. Next time you have a craving for crispy tacos, I suggest you check out Urbano’s Mexican Dining at 855 Twelve Bridges Dr.
