California’s New 2020 Law Limits Registration Of Older Diesel Trucks

In an effort to meet emissions regulations, a new 2020 law limits the registration of some older diesel trucks in California, deeming them unroadworthy. As of this year, (many) California non-profits, and charitable organizations operating diesel-fueled trucks may discover that their older trucks are illegal to drive on California roadways. If you own a commercial vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating of 14,001 – 26,000 pounds and do not meet the new emissions standards, you will no longer be able to renew your registration. This is the case with the current Salt Mine box truck, which they use to transport food, materials, donations and everything in between, 24/7/365.

Throughout the month of December, Lincoln Strong, in collaboration with other businesses and community leaders, will be championing this goal — working to acquire contributions/matches from Lincoln Businesses and donations from residents who are compelled to step up and help.
